SHRIYA WITH FAMILY

   Shriya grew up in Ranipur. She studied at the Delhi Public School and acquired a B.A in Literature from Lady Sri Ram College. She is also a Kathak dancer and trained under Shobha Narayan. She started out as a model, appearing in several commercials like Brookbond, Red Label, Lux and Head & Shoulders. She was also a part of music videos like Tirakthi Kyun Hawa by Reenu Nathan which was shot in Banaras.

   Shriya Saran’s one of the reigning queens of South Indian cinema, her face transforming from innocence to glamorous with remarkable ease. Language is no barrier to this actress as she continues to take on roles in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi and English films.

   Shriya was born in Dehradun on the 11th of September 1982. Her mother is Neeraja, a school teacher and her father is Pushpendra Saran, working with Bharat Heavy Metal Works. She has an older brother Abhiroop.

Lighting Up The Screens.
   Shriya broke into movies with a Telugu movie Ishtam in 2001. Though the movie was not a success, the industry noticed her. This was followed by the 2002 film Santosham with Nagarjuna, which did extremely well. The other two films released the same year Nuvve Nuvve and Chennakeshava Reddy also did well. She got the opportunity to work with some of the major stars and came out with several hits like Tagore (2003) and Chatrapati (2005).
Her Tamil films like Ennaku 20 Unnaku 18 in 2003, Mazhai in 2005 were good performers at the box office. In 2007, she starred in Azhagiya Tamil Magan and she was cast opposite Rajnikanth in Shivaji: The Boss that was one of the biggest films ever made in India.

   Bollywood also has seen a Shriya with Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003), Thoda Hum Badlo Thoda Tum (2004), Awaarapan (2007) and Mission Istanbul (2008).

   Shriya has a mix of Tamil, Hindi and English scheduled to hit the theaters soon like Ek- The Power of One, Kanthaswamy, Jaggubhai, The Other End of the Line and What’s Cooking Stella?

   Shriya is the most happening actresses in Tamil and Telugu. She has acted with almost all the top most heroes in south India. To top it all she is the heroine of Rajanikanth in Shivaji, the biggest movie made in India.

   Shriya Saran was brought up in Ranipur, few miles from Haridwar. Her father Pushpendra Saran works at Bharat Heavy Metal Works and her mother is a schoolteacher, teaching chemistry. Shriya is their second child and her elder brother Abhiroop, recently got married and is living in Delhi. She completed her schooling from Delhi Public School. She did her college in Lady Sri Ram College and has got a B.A. degree to her credit. She has been training Kathak and classical dance from her young age and is an accomplished Kathak dancer. She trained dancing under the guidance of Shobha Narayan.

ORLANDO Bloom, the boyfriend of Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr, is coming forward and talking about his struggle with dyslexia in hopes of helping others.

“I always knew that I wasn’t stupid,” the actor told web site Access Hollywood at The Child Mind Institute lecture, part of the 2010 Adam Jeffrey Katz Memorial Lecture Series at The Rockefeller University in New York City.

"I felt like I was a smart kid, I just struggled with aspects of, of getting educated."

The 33-year-old actor offered up some words of encouragement for kids also struggling with dyslexia.

"You’re part of a very special club and it’s a gift and don’t let anyone ever tell you that you’re not good enough,” he said. "Don’t ever let anyone tell you that because you struggle with dyslexia that you’re never going to make it in life, because it’s simply not true.”

The Hollywood star, who was diagnosed with the learning disability when he was seven, said intense preparation over the years has helped him overcome dyslexia, but admitted there are times when he still has problems.

"I auditioned for something recently and I keep kicking myself about it because I completely dropped the ball," he explained.

The actor did acknowledge that his striking good looks also haven’t hurt his career in Hollywood.

"I’m not too ugly,” he joked. "I had a way with women, and I managed to - with a wink and a smile - get through a lot of the challenging things.”
